IGT’S MOTION FOR INJUNCTION AGAINST LVGI IS DENIED
LAS VEGAS, NV (November 27, 2007) – Las Vegas Gaming, Inc. (LVGI), the gaming industry innovator in server-based gaming application delivery, announced today that the motion filed by IGT for an injunction for alleged copyright and other infringement claims by LVGI and its PlayerVision system has been denied.
The court found that IGT had not shown a likelihood of success and raised serious questions as to its copyright or other infringement claims and, accordingly, refused IGT's request for an injunction. “IGT has failed to meet its burden as to the merits of its copyright claims,” stated the ruling by the United States District Court, District of Nevada. “Accordingly, it is ordered that IGT’s Motion for Preliminary Injunction is denied.”
Jon Berkley, president and CEO of LVGI said, “We are obviously pleased that the federal court has upheld our legal rights pertaining to our proprietary technology.”
“The innovative PlayerVision system transforms the gaming floor of today. It allows operators to optimize the ROI of their legacy technology by driving server-based applications directly to the slot player utilizing the casino’s existing server infrastructure and existing games.”
“By bringing server-based applications from ‘the future’ into ‘the present’, LVGI is a company whose time has come,” continued Berkley. “We are happy to have the hurdle of this motion for injunction behind us so that we may focus on the execution of the business and rapid deployment of PlayerVision.”
